Web3 incubation fund Gam3Girl Ventures recently announced an investment from Bitkraft Ventures, which will go towards Gam3Girl’s mission of helping Web2 developers transition to Web3. This means that Gam3Girl will be able to bring more aspiring Web3 creatives into the community, and Bitkraft will expand its presence and support talent in Asia.
Gam3Girl Ventures aspires to bring some of the leading Web2 talent in Asia to the Web3 world by helping them acquire the necessary skills. Gam3Girl offers the developers resources and information for economic system design, token launches and distribution strategies among other things. It also focuses on bringing developers’ Web2 expertise from top-down to community-focused, using incentive structures to create more socially driven growth.
Gam3Girl Ventures made its debut in July. A number of VC funds, angel investors and Web3 infrastructure companies backed the fund. Some of these include Arrington Capital, three of Axie Infinity’s cofounders and Mask Network. It has invested in a number of Web3 projects such as Blocklords, Infairy Labs and Ultivese.
Gam3Girl, Web3 and the future of gaming
GamesBeat spoke with FD, founder of Gam3Girl Ventures, as well as Jonathan Huang, Bitkraft’s Principal for the APAC region. FD said that Game3Girl is looking for founders who are already interested in Web3: “We definitely want to invest founders who are looking at the future so they definitely need to see the depth and value that Web3 technology can add to their pathway of making games… A paradigm shifting moment is happening right now, in which there will be a lot more traditional developers interested in the [Web3] space. And then we just want to make sure we can help them transition over in a very efficient way and help them make this transition smoothly and very effectively.”

Huang said of Bitkraft’s investment into Gam3Girl, “As someone who spent a lot of time in Web3 over the past four-to-five years, this is a market that’s incredibly dynamic. It’s moving super-fast, and it’s going to take some developers a while to get really savvy around it. If you want to learn about crypto and accelerate, we will be there to help you accelerate that learning and be that partner along the way, because it can be very overwhelming for newcomers who are coming into crypto… We are here to source for deals that people don’t see yet, right? We want to be first to these deals. And so having a partner in the form of [Gam3Girl] is actually very powerful in helping us source better into East Asia.”
FD added, “A lot of people are having doubts about the future of Web3 gaming, mostly from the Web3 side, right? Some of the highly anticipated projects are actually underperforming. But we believe that, in a way, that will be good for the industry. Because it means that only those who are resilient and who are truly visionary and see the future will stay. In the mid-to-long run, we still think a lot of those bottlenecks and pain points can be solved very efficiently with with Web3. So in the mid-to-long run, we are still very optimistic despite the short term mediocre performance of some projects, or the GameFi space as a whole.”
