The Los Angeles Chargers improved to 3-2 in the 2024 NFL season, with Sunday’s 23-16 win on the road over the Denver Broncos. There was a question early in the game whether Jim Harbaugh would even be on the sidelines for the contest after the coach returned to the locker room shortly after kickoff against the Broncos for what the team termed an “illness,” and the coach was listed as questionable to return.
Harbaugh did return to the sideline shortly thereafter, and helped guide the Chargers to their third win of the season. Following the game, the head coach shared with the media that he experienced a heart flutter, received some quick treatment, and was ready to return.
Of course, he did it in the most Jim Harbaugh way possible, by noting this was not the first time, and that he was now 2-0 when experiencing an arrhythmia:
Jim Harbaugh said he has atrial flutter, a type of arrhythmia that causes the upper chambers of the heart to beat 250 to 350 times per minute. A flare up today is what caused him to leave the game. pic.twitter.com/YiGDPab4d3

Harbaugh noted that the first win in his career after experiencing an arrhythmia came back in 2012, on Monday Night Football. That night Colin Kaepernick, getting his first start after Alex Smith suffered a concussion, led the 49ers to a 32-7 win over the Chicago Bears.
