Josh Allen credited with passing and receiving TD on same play after wild Bills lateral score

The Buffalo Bills have been rolling at the top of the AFC all season, sitting only one game behind the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs in the standings while already owning the head-to-head tiebreaker. The Bills wasted little time showing they are the powerhouse the San Francisco 49ers used to be when the two teams squared off in Week 13. With a big lead already in hand, Buffalo scored one of the weirdest and most fun touchdowns we’ve seen all year thanks to superstar QB Josh Allen.

Allen completed a short pass to Amari Cooper inside the red zone as 49ers defenders converged on top of him during the third quarter. Allen had the sense to follow his own pass, and Cooper pitched it to him just before his forward momentum was stopped. Allen took it from there, rushing into the end zone for another Buffalo touchdown.

What a play. Watch it here:

Allen received a passing TD and receiving TD on this play despite not being credited with a reception.

How many times have you ever seen a QB credited with a passing and receiving touchdown on the same play? Josh Allen really did that.

It’s apparently the fourth time this has happened in NFL history, according to the broadcast.

The alternate angle is even better. The creativity by Cooper and Allen here is astounding.

This is the sort of play that makes you think the Bills really might be a team of destiny.

Williams added an impressive rushing touchdown later in the game as the Bills won big. He’s the second player in the last 19 years to score a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in the same game.

The Bills clinched the AFC East with five weeks to play with the win over the 49ers.

Allen also got engaged this week to actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld. That’s a pretty good week.
