Scopely adds Marvel superheroes to Monopoly Go

Scopely announced today that it is collaborating with Marvel to bring several iconic superheroes to its mobile game Monopoly Go. Starting today, Scopely is rolling out a sticker set for players to collect, and it will launch several events related to Marvel’s characters. To start, it’s launching a 20-sticker set for users to collect featuring the characters and storylines. Other events roll out between now and December 5.

These events include an Avengers-branded race with cars themed after that Marvel superhero team; a partner event where two players build a superhero statue on their board; a special dig-themed treasure event featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy; and multiple sticker albums for players to complete. The superheroes confirmed to make an appearance in one way or another include Deadpool, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Thor, Black Panther, Iron Man, Captain Marvel and the aforementioned teams.

Eric Wood, Scopely’s SVP of product, said in a statement, “We are thrilled to bring together Marvel Super Heroes and the vibrant world of Monopoly Go for this magical experience. At Scopely, we pride ourselves on seamlessly integrating beloved characters and stories to create immersive experiences that resonate across generations. This event, the first of its kind for Monopoly Go sets a new standard for incorporating major franchises into casual gaming. Our goal is to deliver an engaging experience for both new and loyal players, offering something truly unique that taps into nostalgia and excitement for everyone.”

Scopely and Marvel have previously collaborated on mobile titles, as Scopely acquired FoxNext Games and built on its game Marvel: Strike Force. Tim Hernandez, Marvel Games’ VP of product and creative, said in a statement, “Building on our strong relationship with Scopely through this collaboration proved to be a fun and surprisingly fitting way to merge the dynamic Super Heroes of the MARVEL Universe with the engaging gameplay and artistry of Monopoly Go. The ability to introduce our characters into such a popular gaming experience is a testament to how well Scopely crafts worlds that put player experience first.”
