The NFL Draft in Green Bay has a crowd like a music festival

The NFL Draft moving city-to-city is one of the better additions to the league calendar. It gives fans around the country a chance to see one of the league’s biggest events up close, rather than just the ho-hum mundanity of holding it in New York City this year.

It was unclear how many people would turn up in Green Bay this year. The Packers don’t pick until the 20s, and it’s the NFL’s smallest city — but my God, did Green Bay show up.

Literally thousands of people have gathered outside of Lambeau Field for the draft and it’s absolutely stunning to see. There’s a whole lot of green and yellow in the crowd as you’d expect, but also a bunch of purple with Vikings fans who have made the trip to Wisconsin for the event.

This is one of the most stunning crowds the draft has ever seen. Bravo, Green Bay.
