Wave acoustic panels by Nital Patel for Arturel

Dezeen Showroom: Danish brand Arturel and designer Nital Patel combined beauty, practicality and sustainability in their Wave felt acoustic panels, which are made from 100 per cent recycled plastic.

Wave is a sound-absorbing, three-dimensional felt art piece available as either one large statement work or in sets of smaller tiles.

The design of the works is based on the coastal landscapes of Denmark, echoing the composition of the product, with 75 per cent of the recycled PET coming from ocean plastic.

Arturel and Patel aimed to bring some of the serenity of the seaside into interiors with the design, which can be customised by orientating the pattern in different directions.

“Imagine standing on the shore, waves crashing in the distance, a sense of tranquility washing over you,” said Patel. “That’s the essence of the Wave series.”

“Everyday objects should be beautiful as well as functional,” he continued. “This is why the Waves series gives even the humblest of spaces an elegance and quiet beauty.”
