Promotion: furniture brand Desalto returns to Milan design week with an exhibition stand spotlighting its latest upholstered furniture and metal products.

On display at Salone del Mobile from 8 to 13 April, the exhibition features a new collection of entirely metal products showcased in a “harmonious dialogue” with its renewed and expanded upholstery collection.

Curated by Desalto’s artistic director Francesco Rota, the stand is framed by partition walls made of both raw and painted metal in “Desalto blue”.

“Desalto’s presentation at the 2025 Salone del Mobile embodies a harmonious dialogue between opposing elements – upholstered furniture and metal,” the company said.

“The stand’s design conveys a clear message through the interplay of geometric, sculptural forms in metal furnishings and the softness of upholstered pieces, as well as the contrast between austere finishes and bold colours.”

The showcase follows the release of the company’s first upholstered range last year, which encompasses the Clip, Unlimited and Roller collection designed by Rota.

Expanding on this, Desalto’s latest launch sees its Unlimited seating collection reimagined as a modular system, which includes a 45-degree and 90-degree corner edition of the sofa series, with renders revealing green-hued, plush seating arranged in various angled forms.

The brand has also expanded its Clip collection to include a pouf and armchair, which is composed of a structural steel frame conceptualised as a “precisely drawn graphic line” covered with foam padding.

Desalto explained that these updated designs enable the products to respond to a wider range of furnishing needs for both residential and hospitality settings.

Desalto’s upholstered furniture range also introduces a new collection – Sum – which was also designed by Rota.

The Sum collection comprises a set of square-shaped modules of equal size that can be combined to create sofas of two or more seats as required by the user.

Small tables complement the sofa system and are designed to integrate seamlessly with the square poufs.

The all-metal Zinco collection will also be on show

Also on show at the fair is the Zinco collection designed by Luca Pevere, which consists of a set of tables and shelving units showcasing “metal in its most industrial essence”.

Celebrating their manufacturing process, the Zinco products are characterised by folded metal forms with mechanical fastenings that give “an easily comprehensible aesthetic, where individual components and their assembly are clearly visible”.

Each item in the collection can be disassembled – optimising both its transportation and production.
